Our Model
We social care — helping parents overcome real-life barriers while advancing toward stable, well-paying careers.
Think of it like applying for financial aid at a college, but for your life, not your education.
You’ll complete a short application, meet with your Success Coach, and talk through your goals, challenges, and plans for the future.
From there, we assess your eligibility, and if you’re a good fit, we award a Holistic Support Scholarship — a personalized package valued at a set amount of financial aid, meant to help you obtain your training/education in a living wage career track.
Your holistic support scholarship is then applied to the suite of supports —child care, mental/behavioral healthcare, transportation support, coaching, and more—that help you stay enrolled in your career advancement training/education to completion, allowing you to build long-term family stability.
After meeting with your Success Coach a few times, you’ll receive a personalized plan that outlines your goals and the types of support you’ll use.
Some parents only need one or two services; others may need more.

Commitment 1
Commit to a Career Pathway
Enroll in or continue a career training, certification, on-the-job training, or degree program.
Support services begin once you are actively enrolled.
This keeps your supports aligned with real progress toward your wage goals.

Commitment 2
Co-Create & Sign Your Family Scope of Work
Together with your Success Coach, you’ll co-create an Economic Mobility Plan — your step-by-step roadmap of anticipated supportive services to help you
reach your educational goal and achieve a meaningful wage increase — often 25% or more than you are currently earning.
You’ll review and sign a scope of work agreement that defines your responsibilities and our commitments, along with timelines.
Commitment 3
Stay Engaged and Reach Your Milestones
Your Economic Mobility Plan will specify the expectations around the frequency of meetings with your Success Coach, proactive steps required to advance
your economic mobility, and the timeframe we are committed to working with you. As long as you meet the requirements outlined in the Scope of Work, you
will be eligible to apply for additional Holistic Support Scholarships to continue advancing in your career.

Pay-It-Forward

Every Holistic Support Scholarship is made possible because another parent — and a community of donors — believed in paying opportunity forward. Once you’ve completed your Economic Mobility Plan and are established in your career, you’ll have the opportunity to do the same.
Graduates commit to sponsoring one future parent through Along The Way’s Human Investment Fund.
Give-backs are income-based, ensuring your contribution remains manageable but meaningful.
This keeps the circle of investment alive — turning today’s support into tomorrow’s opportunity for another family. Once you’re thriving in your career, your pay-it-forward contribution helps fund the next parent’s Holistic Support Scholarship — just like someone once did for you.
